Present: Chairman Christians, Supervisor Jack Sjostrom, Supervisor Jason Sjostrom, Supervisor Kariainen, Supervisor Bandow, Carol Stone, Clerk, Rebecca Brunner-Stroede, Treasurer.

PLEDGE OF ALLEGIENCE:

APPROVAL OF MINUTES: May 10 2021 Regular Town Board Meeting Minutes. Supervisor Kariainen made a motion to approve the minutes as written. Supervisor Bandow 2nd the motion. All in favor. 5 yes, 0 no. Motion carried. June 04, 2021, Town of Lenroot Board of Review Meeting Minutes: Supervisor Jason Sjostrom a motion to approve the Board of Review Meeting Minutes as written. Supervisor Jack Sjostrom 2nd the motion. All in favor. 5 yes, 0 no. Motion carried.

APPROVAL OF TREASURER REPORT: Supervisor Bandow made a motion to approve the May 10, 2021 Treasurer’s Report. Supervisor Kariainen, 2nd the motion. All in favor. 5 yes, 0 no. Motion carried.

APPROVAL CLERK REPORT: Supervisor Bandow made a motion to approve the May 10, 2021, Clerk Report. Chairman Christians 2nd the motion. All in favor. 5 yes, 0 no. Motion carried.

PUBLIC INPUT: Sara Curtis spoke in regard to “Jake Breaking” on highway 77/27. The noise is unbearable. She has contacted the state and county and they have asked her to ask the township to send a letter of request to post a sign such as “Engine Breaking Muffler Required”. Chairman Christians volunteered to compose a letter to the DOT in regard to this matter.

EWIG LANE: Mell Kelly spoke for the residents who have many problems with thru traffic from Norway Point road thru Ewig Lane. As a portion of Ewig Lane is clearly identified as a private road, the town has no authority to stop the flow of traffic, in that area. New signage is needed and the Board did offer to post any signs the residents purchase to alieve this problem.

FRED GOOLD: re: Comprehensive Planning. Fred plans to have 3 meetings this year [2 public and 1

regular] to look at existing and future issues. Amendment may be made to existing plan as well.

OLD BUSINESS: APRA – Supervisor Kariainen Has been working on the grant. He has completed it and submitted it. Approximate money received may be $135,000.00. Monies must be used for Internet/Broadband Projects.

BLACKTOP BIDS: One bid received from Monarch paving. Bids on Hard Rock Circle Road & Clems Road [$111,356.00] Portion of Nelson Lake Road [$79,206.00] , Eaton Road [$69,207.00]a portion of Jolly Fisherman Road [$5,071.00]. With a total of $265,240.00. Supervisor Jack Sjostrom made a motion to approve the bid as presented with an option to remove Nelson Lake Road Blacktopping, which would bring total bid to $186,134.00. Supervisor Bandow 2nd the bid All in favor. 5 yes, 0 no. Motion carried.

ZONING: Ronald Burton Variance Application #21-003. Supervisor Jack Sjostrom made a motion to approve the application. Supervisor Kariainen 2nd the motion. All in favor. 5 yes, 0 no. Motion carried.

Larry Howe, Township Approval Application. Supervisor Kariainen made a motion to approve the application. Supervisor Bandow 2nd the motion. All in favor. 5 yes, 0 no. Motion carried.

MT. BORAH FOUNDATION EPIC BORAH MOUNTAIN BIKE RACE [June 5-6, 2021. Supevisor Kariainen made a motion to approve the race application. Chairman Christians 2nd the motion. All in favor. 5 yes, 0 no. Motion carried.

LIQUOR LICENSE & OPERATOR LICENSE APPROVAL OF 2021-2022 APPLICATIONS: Supervisor Jack Sjostrom made a motion to approve the applications. Supervisor Bandow 2nd the motion. All in favor. 5 yes, 0 no. Motion carried.

TOWN GRADER PURCHASE: There were two (2) quotes presented. John Deere Company, a used 2019, @$239.000.00 and Caterpillar Company, a new, 2021 @$315,338.68. After much discussion Supervisor Jack Sjostrom made a motion to TABLE the issue until the July Agenda. Supervisor Kariainen 2nd the motion. All in favor. 5 yes, 0 no. Motion carried.

SEELEY LION CLUB SHELTER REQUEST FOR GRAVEL AND A PORT-A-POTI. Chairman Christians made a motion to approve a town donation of 4 loads of gravel for the shelter road and to share the cost of a Port-a-Poti rented from Ron Poppe Port-a-Poti business. Supervisor Jack Sjostrom 2nd the motion. All in favor. 5 yes, 0 no. Motion carried. It was also noted that Eric would haul sand into Silverthorn Beach.

CEMETERY REQUEST FOR CEMETERY BENCHES: Benches will be donated by an organization. One may be place on Cemetery Trail and one on Kayak/Canoe Landing. Supervisor Jason Sjostrom made a motion to accept the donation and placement of benches. Supervisor Bandow 2nd the motion. All in favor. 5 yes, 0 no. Motion carried. The board also discussed the placement of some kind of a grate or walk at the landing.

BIDS FOR SALE OF ROCK FROM TOWN OF LENROOT ROCK QUARRY: no motion made.

ARPA FUNDS ALLOCUTION RESOLUTION AND USE OF FUNDS: Chairman Christians made a motion to TABLE until the July Agenda. Supervisor Jack Sjostrom 2nd the motion. All in favor. 5 yes, 0 no. Motion carried.

ROAD & BRIDGE REPORT: Mowing is going well. Grading is in process on Olson Road.

TOWN OF LENROOT SEELEY RIVERSIDE CEMETERY: None

APPROVAL OF BILLS: Supervisor Jack Sjostrom made a motion to approve the Federal and State withholding internet payments and check series #29559 thru #29595, making the June 14th, 2021, total expense of $$26,173.38 Supervisor Kariainen 2nd the motion. All in favor. 5 yes, 0 no. Motion carried.
